For the second year running, WiSET ran the annual WiSET awards to recognise the exceptional contributions of individuals across the university who have worked to raise the profile and participation of women in science, engineering, maths and medicine (STEMM). IWD 2017 city event

On the 11th March 2017, West Quay played host to the largest international women’s day (IWD) event in its history. With 500 to 600 people gathered around at any one time, crowding around balconies on all floors, filling up all available space, the event was a resounding success. Katrina Morgan, WiSET co-chair, was inspired by the lead organiser, Ishret Damani from Hampshire constabulary, to get involved and help with the running of the event. Continue reading →

Here is a foreword from the WISET SG about Kizanne: Kizanne James is an International student on the Leadership and Management MSc course in the Faculty of Health Sciences. Here is an introduction of the winner by our WISET SG: Angeles Camacho is a second-year postgraduate research student in the Optoelectronics Research Centre (ORC).
