WiSET+ awards

The WiSET+ Annual Award is a scheme to recognise and celebrate individuals in the University of Southampton who make an outstanding contribution to supporting and advancing women in academia through, for example, outreach activities, mentoring, providing networking opportunities, raising awareness and supporting the professional development and promotion of women in academia. These contributions should be above and beyond the requirements of their formal role.

The annual awards were inaugurated in 2016 to recognise and reward exceptional contributions of individuals who have worked to raise the profile and participation of women in STEMM (science, technology, engineering, medicine, and maths) or in any way that constructively addresses gender disparity across the university. In 2019, the awards were opened up to all disciplines including STEMM, arts, humanities, social sciences, business and law (AHSSBL).

The awards are open to all staff or students at the University of Southampton, irrespective of their gender, mode of study or nature of their employment. Recipients of the WiSET+ award receive a WiSET+ award trophy and a cash prize.
